Sidekick Theatre is a professional theatre company based at the Minnesota Heritage Center in Bloomington. We are seeking Equity / Non-Equity actors for five roles in the new comedy, "Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help."
The O’Sheas are just like any other family in town: middle-class, Irish, Catholic. It’s 1973, and public ridicule in their community is the ultimate nightmare, according to 19-year-old Linda O’Shea. With dry yet affectionate humor, she narrates the most turbulent day of her life when a series of mishaps jeopardizes the family’s reputation. It takes every O’Shea in the house — from Linda’s quirky younger sister to her sassy aunt — to keep the family’s name in good standing.
Linda O’Shea: Female, 19-20 yrs old. She is highly intelligent, caring, and curious. Alternates between thinking she knows everything and thinking she knows nothing.
Becky O’Shea: Female, 13 years old. She is bright and verbal, full of energy and a crazy-huge imagination.
Terri Carmichael: Female, mid to late 50’s. Witty, sassy aunt.
Jo O’Shea: Female, late 40s to early 50s. A great mother who defines multi-tasking.
Mike O’Shea: Male, early 50s. Loud, loyal, and a lousy listener. Also plays an old school, Catholic priest - egotistical, imperious, and pampered. And also plays a judgmental, middle-aged woman.
