This September, Freshwater Theatre is proud to present the next installment in its Ivey award winning short play festival series, Eventually, Epiphany, to run in rep with our main stage production, Immaculate Heart, by Ruth Virkus.
With this production, Freshwater Theatre is inviting local artists and storytellers to share tales of things they only learned about themselves in adulthood, be it humorous, serious, or profound!
The show will run on 3 nights, featuring 4-7 pieces in total. We are looking for artist-led pieces, simple in production, that can be easily performed in the the church setting we will create for Immaculate Heart. The pieces should be no longer than 20 minutes in length.
A stipend of at least $100 is guaranteed.
We are are seeking storytelling pieces and scenes with no more than two people, prioritizing personal experiences/spoken word over short form plays. However, you do not have to perform your own piece if you do not wish; please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
We will have one group rehearsal two weeks from opening, with a paper tech with the artists and tech staff, and a 5 hour tech rehearsal on Saturday, September 14.
Eventually, Epiphany will open the evening of September 15, with two more performances the evenings of September 20 and 22.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions; all inquiries and play submissions should be directed to: [email protected]. Submissions are due by August 2, 2019.
