The Dragon Who Liked to Spit Fire

Seeking strong (vaccinated) musical theater performers for a premiere work of this sweet, original kids show based on the book, “The Dragon Who Liked to Spit Fire” by Judy Varga. (Script, Lyrics and Music by Sim Glaser)  This lovely little musical is written in verse and peppered with vibrant songs throughout!

Darius the Dragon and Princess June are the best of friends, but there are special challenges at the palace when you have a dragon for a pet!  Come join them as they explore how they can create the fire they need to be true to themselves.

All roles are flexible with age, however the Prince is 8-12 years old and the King and Queen should be able to play late 40s or older+.

LOCATION FOR AUDITIONS/REHEARSALS/SHOWS:   Barry Family Campus Theater  (4330 Cedar Lake Road, St. Louis Park: Within the Sabes JCC) We are also accepting virtual submissions for the initial audition screening.

WHAT TO BRING/SEND:  Headshot, Resume, List of Conflicts (No show conflicts accepted), Vaccination Card. Dress comfortable for movement in person auditions and callbacks, if called. Masks required into building. You may remove your mask for your audition, then place it back on moving out into the general space of the community center. If you are not comfortable with mask usage, please do not audition, as it is required by the facility. WE WILL NOT BE MASKED FOR PERFORMANCE.  A weekly negative covid test will be required.

WHAT TO PREPARE: One up-tempo and one ballad musical theater style song that best shows your range and ability to tell a story through music. Please prepare a verse and a chorus. If you have a comedic monologue, we’d love to see it.  Please keep in mind this is a kid friendly production, so gear your selections towards that style.
