The Godfrey House Summer Tour Guide 2023

The Woman's Club of Minneapolis is recruiting individuals interested in history to interact with the public by providing tours of the Historic Ard Godfrey House located at Chute Square, University and Central Ave, SE Minneapolis.  The Ard Godfrey House was built in 1849 and is the oldest wood frame house remaining in Minneapolis.  https://www.womansclub.org/ard-godfrey-house.  

Applicants should have good communication and people skills and be willing to work 3.5 hours on Saturday or Sunday afternoons from 12:45-4:15pm - June, July and August.  Additionally, tour guides will be needed on Sunday May 21, Dandelion Day from 11:00am- 4:15pm, guiding visitors through the house.  Other dates may be added per special request.  

Tour guides earn $20.00 per hour.  Training and costume will be provided.  Tour guides must have their own transportation.  The Ard Godfry House is a two-story structure and the persons in this position frequently ascend/descend the staircase during tours and need to move about inside and outside of the house.

Candidates will interview at The Woman's Club of Minneapolis with the Godfrey project committee on Thursday April 13 and Friday April 14.  Orientation and training will be held at the Godfrey House on Saturday May 6, time to be determined later.  Applicants should forward their resumes to [email protected].  Applications will be accepted through April 7.   Resumes will be reviewed, and you will be contacted by phone or email.
