Zoe, a Black student at a liberal arts college, is called into her white professor’s office to discuss her paper about slavery’s effect on the American Revolution. What begins as a polite clash in perspectives explodes into an urgent debate about race, history, and power.
This play deals with topics of slavery, racial prejudice, white fragility, explorations of sexuality, and harsh political landscapes.
If you’d like to read a copy of the script, you may stop by Lakeshore Players Theatre Monday-Fridays between 11AM-4PM.
Rehearsals will take place on evenings and weekends from Nov. 28th-Jan. 5th (with time off for Christmas and New Year’s) at Lakeshore Players Theatre.
You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have proof of vaccination in order to participate. A booster is encouraged but not required to participate.
You must be available for all performances to be considered.

All performances will take place in the Hanifl Performing Arts Center’s Black Box Theatre.

Please prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue of your choice.

*Although these characters are listed as female, we encourage actors of all gender expressions to audition
We ask that all actors be masked for the majority of rehearsals, removing masks only during tech week and for performances onstage. All creative team members will be masked for rehearsals.
Masks are encouraged but not required for audience members at this time.
