Theater Latte Da - Production Staff Needed - Stage Management Interns, Overhire Carpenters, Followspot Operator


Theater Latté Da is currently seeking Stage Management Interns for our 2018-2019 season (additional information for each of the productions is below).


The Stage Management Internship provides the opportunity for individuals to work in conjunction with an Equity Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager assisting with various tasks including: prep, rehearsal room prep, rehearsals, and performance responsibilities.  This internship affords our Interns an opportunity to work alongside many talented directors, designers, and technicians. 


Theater Latté Da asks that Interns be available for all rehearsals and performances.   This is a volunteer position, but interns will be provided a $750 stipend to offset travel and meal costs, complimentary tickets, networking opportunities, and the experience of working in a professional theater.


Desired Skills and Experience

Basic Experience and/or Interest in Stage Management.  No High School Student Applicants at this time due to daytime rehearsals.


Once, the first production of our 21st Season!  It will be directed by Peter Rothstein, music directed by Jason Hansen, choreographed by Kelli Foster Warder, and performed at the Ritz Theater.

A Little Night Music, our winter production, will be directed by Peter Rothstein, music directed by Jason Hansen, and performed at the Ritz Theater.

Hedwig and the Angry Itch, our spring production, will be directed by Peter Rothstein, music directed by Jason Hansen, and performed at the Ritz Theater.

To Let Go and Fall, our summer production, was written by Harrison David Rivers, will be directed by Peter Rothstein and performed at the Ritz Theater.   To Let Go and Fall will be a part of Theater Latte Da’s 2018 NEXT Festival.

Theater Latte Da is expanding its theatrical scene shop and looking to expand its over-hire carpenter call list. Applicants should have experience in a theatrical scene shop or other carpentry shop.


Skills/ Attributes: 

~Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

~Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools 

~Previous experience in theatrical carpentry 

~Ability to take direction and work independently or in groups 

~Knowledge of safe practices 

~Ability to lift and carry objects weighting 70 pounds 

~Able to work at heights

~Good attitude and work ethic

~MIG Welding experience a plus

~Rigging experiences a plus 


Pay is $16-$18/hour as a part-time non-exempt employee.

Theater Latte Da is seeking a followspot operator for their production of A Little Night Music (Dates listed below).

Job Description:

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience running spot and knowledge of theatrical lighting equipment and terminology.
  • Reports to the Production Manager (PM), Production Stage Manager (PSM), Lighting Designer (LD), and Light Board Operator (LBO)
  • Must be present and punctual for all tech, performances, and attend (1) designer run through to familiarize with the show prior to tech
  • Those encouraged to apply: Self-motivated, willing to work towards excellence daily and thrives as part of a team. Works well in high pressure situations. 

Job Duties:

  • Run a spotlight for tech and performances. Depending on requirements of show, may be asked to participate in other small run crew needs.
  • Striving daily for excellent production quality, within the craftsmanship of spotlight operating.
  • Check function of spotlight daily, to ensure it is functioning as necessary for operation of the show.
  • Understand common lighting terms and goals, so as to ease tech and designer’s process: previous experience operating a followspot is highly sought after.

Pay is $10.25/hour as a part-time non-exempt employee.

A Little Night Music

  • Tech: January 16th-26th 2019
  • Opening: January 26th, 2019
  • Closing: March 10th, 2019
    • this includes a one week unannounced extension. Closing may happen one week prior to this date, decision to be made later in the process
  • Designer Run TBD, likely during the week of January 8th –15th 2019
