1. AEA and IMPROV: Recently there have been several inquiries about Equity Contracts and comedy and/or improvisation. How does AEA deal with that? Second City in Chicago has Equity contracts – does that apply at all to us locally?
Turns out, it’s likely that the comedy/improv group you perform with is outside of Equity’s jurisdiction, which means you wouldn’t need to list "appearing thru courtesy of AEA" in a program (but you COULD certainly list it in your bio), and you don’t need to worry about performing "under the radar.”
Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company is casting "Church and State," "Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins," "Collected Stories," and "Natasha and the Coat" (world premiere) for its 2017-2018 season. Full Circle Theater is seeking union and non-union actors (actors of all abilities welcome) for its 2018 spring production: The World Premiere of Under This Roof. Set in 1948 Cleveland, Under This Roof examines the relationship between Mamie & Raymond Warren and Bessie Washington, who comes to take care of Raymond after a recent accident. This heartfelt drama examines complex themes of aging, family and racial expectations in post WWII America.

Frank Theatre is holding general auditions for its 2017-18 season, which will be announced on July 13. Auditions are being held Sun 7/9 from 2:00-9:00, and Wed 7/11 from 4:00-9:00. The fall production is contemporary, with a cast of 3-4 women and 2-3 men. Rehearsals begin Sept 7, opening Sept 29, and closing Oct 22. The spring production dates are TBA, for a show that is large cast, open to all ages, ethnicities and abilities. Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue that showcases your strengths as an actor, and bring a photo and resume.
Seeking actors for Actors Theatre of Louisville's Professional Training Company. Acting Apprentices perform in their own five-show season, focusing entirely on new works, and culminating in a commissioned work that is a fully-produced as a part of the Humana Festival of New American Plays. Small roles and understudy positions in the theater's mainstage season are possible, but not guaranteed. Practical audition and business-based training curriculum is provided throughout the year.
