Audition Note from the Director

LITTLE WOMEN by Kate Hamill is a modern adaptation of the familiar novel by Louisa May Alcott. As noted by the playwright, this version is “a re-telling, and in some ways a conscious explosion” of the archetypes that are usually presented in the novel. It is the mission of the director to lean in to that radical re-telling with hopes to broaden the relevance of this story to a modern and inclusive audience.

The director is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in casting and encourages actors of all gender identities, diverse backgrounds, and the Global Majority to audition for all roles.

Lyric Arts’ Commitment to Diversity and Inclusive Casting

Lyric Arts is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We are actively seeking a diverse cast of actors for LITTLE WOMEN. All auditions shall be conducted in a manner that promotes fair consideration to persons of all races, ethnicities, national origins, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, ability statuses, and body types.
