Free rent at Lowry LAB Theatre

News

Carol Schweickhardt at Theater Space Project wants you to know three things:

  • They are not to be confused with the Lowry Theater, now showing Tony 'n Tina's Wedding, next door.
  • They have recently upgraded their theater with more seats, more power, a new light board, new sound board, and dimmer packs that don't blow up.
  • They would like to rent that theater to you. For free.

Travelers Foundation has given them a grant for the purpose of improving diversity in their space. They have five weeks of rent subsidy available to 'diverse' productions. Carol encourages you to think about 'isms' like sexism, racism, ageism.

Companies may apply for one to two weeks of free rent, but Theater Space Project will collect a per ticket charge to help make this program more sustainable. Get your application by calling 651-222-0149 or emailing Carol.
