Biography

“Sharp, with perfect pacing” – St. Paul Pioneer Press...“Always on-target stalwart” – Minneapolis City Pages. "One of our favorite finds," Mankato Free Press. A former news writer, Ben's performance career kicked off after winning Acme Comedy Co.'s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities Contest in 2006. Since then, he has balanced a professional career in stand-up comedy with his work as a theatrical producer, playwright and journalist. He wrote and starred in "A Nice Guy's Guide to Awkward Sex," the fifth best-selling production of the 2010 Minnesota Fringe Festival, a feat matched in 2011 with his play "Minnesota Middle Finger." Ben's other Fringe productions include the encore-winning play "Apple Picking," the encore-winning stand-up comedy show "Animal Cracker Genocide," and the upcoming storytelling show "Spec." Ben also appeared in the national Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta, the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minneapolis, and the Aspen LaughFest.
