Open Window Theatre is kicking off Season 11 (2024-2025) auditions with our fall production of Shakespeare's Macbeth. All types and ethnicities are welcome to audition. Initial audition dates are May 9 & 14 with callbacks on Monday, June 3.

FALL 2024: MACBETH
Directed by Joe Hendren
Rehearsals: July 15, 22, August 5; August 19 - October 3, 2024
Performances: October 4 - 30, 2024
Synopsis: Shakespeare’s timeless and horrific tragedy about unbridled ambition and the temptation of evil. We are seeking a flexible ensemble of approximately 15 actors, most of whom will play multiple roles. Actors who move well and/or play musical instruments are of particular interest to us.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Actors are asked to prepare both of the following:
1) An Elizabethan or Jacobean-era monologue (if you’re unsure, Shakespeare works just fine) -- approximately 1.5 - 2 minutes in length. Select one of your choosing or use one of the three provided from Macbeth (click here). Monologues should be memorized.
2) A physical expression without voice, approximately 20-30 seconds in length. This could be a pantomime, dance, ASL, etc. Be creative and find something that appropriately expresses you and your abilities (no charades please).
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Character tracks have not been fully determined yet and will be informed by the audition process.
