“Not That Special” is an original play that focuses on the challenges that people with disabilities face when transitioning from the school system to the “real world.” When Leo, a recent high school graduate with cerebral palsy, is rejected from the theatre college of his dreams, he is forced to rethink what he wants to do with his life. Leo decides to take matters into his own hands by directing a production of “Romeo and Juliet” featuring ONLY actors with disabilities. Written collectively by members of the ProAct Playhouse class, this funny and emotional play sheds light on what it’s like for individuals with disabilities to earn respect in a world that treats them “special.” Please join us on August 25, at 7:30PM at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.  20965 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville, MN 55044. Suggested donation $10.
