Auditions for 'HAIRSPRAY: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL'

BSCET is a summer stock theatre company located and operated in Burnsville, Minnesota. We currently are seeking actors for our Mainstage Summer Production of Hairspray: The Broadway Musical' directed by Braylon M. Lane

Auditions: Monday, April 29th ~or~ Tuessday, April 30th @ The Mraz Center For Performing Arts, 6pm-9pm

Invited Choreography Callbacks: Wednesday, May 1st- 6pm-9pm (Mraz Center)

Invited Vocal & Cold Read Callbacks: Thursday, May 2nd- 6pm-9pm (Mraz Center)

First Rehearsal: Monday, June 10th as an introductory meeting, stage presentation, company introductions, and first music rehearsal.

Performances: August 1st-3rd & 8th-9th @7pm  (With 2pm matinees on both the 3rd and the 9th) + Wednesday, July 31st @4pm (Senior Preview)

SYNOPSIS:

The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs.

 “It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do!”
