Albino Squirrel Productions is using a 1-up on two of its classic Fringe fan favorites, "A Mario Kart Named Desire" (directed by Lindsey Bushnell) and "Zelda: The Hero of Fringe" (directed by James Ehlenz) for a night of non-specific video madness at the Phoenix Theater!
We are seeking performers to appear in either or both productions. Auditions will be held at the Phoenix Theater on Tuesday, December 5 from 6PM to 10PM by appointment at the link below. We will also accept video auditions to be submitted by December 5 at 10PM - please be aware that late submissions may not be considered. Callbacks TBD. We are asking for each performer to come prepared with a contemporary, one-minute monologue and a 16-measure song cutting (accompanist provided). Note that "Mario" is a full musical while "Zelda" is a play with music.
Video auditions sent to [email protected].
Rehearsals will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights, MN, Monday-Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM-9:30 PM beginning January 8. Performances will take place at the Phoenix Theater in Uptown Minneapolis on the following dates:

Casting will be gender-blind, colorblind, open to all adult ages* (21+ encouraged) and very likely heavily double-cast (including between shows). Key characters we are casting for in each production include:
Mario - The man, the myth, the legend, "Mr. Video Game" himself. The ever-so-slightly older and more responsible of the Mario Brothers.
Luigi - Green Mario, the ever-so-slightly younger twin searching for his own self in this Goomba-eat-Goomba world.
Daisy - The princess (no, not that one), a budding archaeologist with a mysterious past.
Bowser - King of the Koopas, a megalomaniacal tyrant out to take over the world(s), and also just kind of a jerk.
Toadette - The latest in a long line of royal guards, desperate to prove her worthiness.
Kammy - Bowser's world-weary second-in-command Magikoopa, though she wishes he'd see her as more than just an underling.
Izzy - The dumber of Bowser's two children.
Spike - The dumber of Bowser's two children.
Bobby - The leader of the Bob-omb Army, a proud military leader, unlike those peace-loving pinko Bob-ombs.
King Pear - Daisy's imprisoned father, a kindly but senile king.
Toadsworth - Toadette's grandfather and King Pear's vizier. Possibly the only non-evil vizier in existence.
Link - The unlikely hero chosen by the Master Sword. Brave and loyal, though he doesn't have much to say for himself.
Navi - The talkative fairy who's just happy to help! Her cheery nature betrays a hint of melancholy.
Zelda - The headstrong princess destined to rule Hyrule Kingdom.
Ganondorf - The dark prince of the Gerudo tribe, he seeks power only for its own sake.
Impa - Zelda's mentor, stern and tough, but who cares deeply for the Princess.
Rauru - Zelda's father, laidback and moronic, but who cares deeply for his daughter (yet also should probably not be anywhere near a position of power).
Nabooru - Ganondorf's sister, jaded from her years of living in her brother's shadow.
Koume and Kotake - Ganondorf's mentors, a couple of old hags who found him abandoned in the Gerudo Desert as a child and raised him to know the ways of evil.
Deku - The de facto king of Kokiri Forest, a wise, talking tree.
Saria - A kindly girl living in Kokiri Forest who is not only good friends with Link, but can play a mean ocarina solo.
Groose - The resident jock and braggart of Kokiri Forest, longing for a date with Saria.
Tingle - A 35-year-old man living in Kokiri Forest who everyone is just cool with for some reason. Despite his overall uselessness, he is quite an adept mapmaker.
Darunia - The leader of the Goron Tribe, a rock-hard dude who loves to dance.
Zora - The ruler of the Zora Tribe. Call him the Water Temple, because he loves to waste your time.
Ruto - The princess of the Zora Tribe. She is betrothed to Link, though she only has fish eyes for another.
*Please be aware that only actors of 18 and up will be considered - no minors.
