The Seasons Dinner Theatre is seeking performers for their 2024 holiday production, Oh Crud, It’s Christmas! written and produced by Thomas G. McCarthy and Patti J. Hynes-McCarthy. The Seasons Dinner Theatre is a professional company who have been in business for the past 36 years and sell approximately 7,000 tickets for their original script musical comedy Christmas show each year. We perform at the Bunker Hills Event Center at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, MN.
Oh Crud, It’s Christmas runs December 5th through December 31 for a total of 34 performances which includes 9 shows a week with double shows on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, off on Mondays and off December 23, 24, and 25.
* Performance Pay is $75 per performance for adults and $35 per performance per child. An additional travel stipend of $150 is provided to each performer. (There is no rehearsal pay.) Each actor receives 2 comps for dinner/show. Meals are provided to cast and crew between matinee and evening performances.
Show Description: Oh Crud, It’s Christmas!
It’s Christmas, and Crocker, the infamous curmudgeon who lives on the top floor of the Alworth Apartment Building overlooking the harbor and downtown Duluth, is moving out. Everyone in the building is clamoring to have his apartment with the best views and to finally be rid of a cantankerous sourpuss. Only… he doesn’t vacate the building, causing an avalanche of consternation. Crocker revels in lording his prime apartment over his neighbors, but doesn’t know what to do when a pushy southern woman moves in and befriends him. He’s even more vexed by the arrival of his unrecognizable long lost granddaughter, and a building full of “oddballs”, who he has never liked, suddenly being nice! Christmas for Crocker delivers a lesson in ‘proper language’, along with a dose of acceptance and reconciliation. Oh Crud, It’s Christmas! is sure to tickle your funny bone and bring a tear to your eye. Join us for yet another holiday original script musical comedy perfect for the whole family.

Rehearsals:
Rehearsals are mostly held on weeknight evenings and a few Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons.
Our Process:
The Seasons Dinner Theatre works differently than most theatres because we write our own shows. We have a core group of actors, and then, through auditions, we round out our cast with additional unique and talented people. The show is cast and then written.
