Lakeville Area Arts Center Upcoming Auditions

Expressions Community Theater will be holding auditions for The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard. Auditions will be held at the Lakeville Area Arts Center - FINE ARTS BUILDING, 20965 Holyoke Avenue on Tuesday, May 14th and Wednesday, May 15th from 6 - 8p.m.  Callbacks will be held on Thursday, May 16th. Please bring a headshot or current photo with you along with your calendar.  Auditions will consist of readings from the script and more. Rehearsals begin on May 28th, and show dates are July 26 & 27, August 1-3, 2024 – 7pm.  July 28, August 4,2024 – 2pm.

About the Show: A one act play that follows two theater critics named Moon and Birdboot who are watching a ludicrous setup of a murder mystery at Muldoon Manor, in the style of a whodunit. A play-within-a-play farce that wraps up the critics with a clever twist.

We are looking for a cast of eight characters:

MOON – (25+) – An experienced but obsessed, 2nd string critic who longs to rise up the ranks as a theater critic.

MRS. DRUDGE (30+) – The observant maid who works at Muldoon Manor.

SIMON (20+) -A womanizing, shifty man who mysteriously shows up at Muldoon Manor.

FELICITY (20+) -A lovely and charming young friend of CYNTHIA who has had an affair with SIMON and BIRDBOOT, but soon seeks ruthless revenge!

CYNTHIA (30+) – Apparent widow of Lord Albert Muldoon who disappeared years ago. She has a fiery temper beneath her aristocratic exterior.

MAGNUS (40’s) – A 3 in 1 character that appears as a wheelchair-bound guest of Muldoon Manor.

INSPECTOR HOUND/A CRITIC (40’s) – A mysterious Inspector brought out to solve the mystery of Muldoon Manor.

BIRDBOOT (30+) – A 1st string theater critic whose smug ego gets the better of him.

*DEAD BODY*– No lines but must be comfortable laying on the floor the entirety of the play.
