About the Project
The Edge of Liberty is a microbudget film and podcast project satirizing political Twitter and online grifters. Written and directed by award-winning duo Abbie Lucas and Kevin Kautzman in collaboration with Bad Mouth Theatre Company, this dark comedy will rehearse and shoot at the iconic Lee's Liquor Lounge in downtown Minneapolis during April 2024. Actors will be part of a collaborative creative process, with compensation of $1000.

Production Details
- Zoom Rehearsals: March 31 – April 4 (evenings)
- Live Rehearsals: April 7 – 17 (evenings)
- Tech Day: April 21 (regular working hours)
- Shoot Dates: April 22 – 29 (regular working hours)
- Location: Lee's Liquor Lounge, Downtown Minneapolis
- Travel and Accommodation: Must be local to the Twin Cities or willing to travel and accommodate yourself.

Before submitting, review the production details above and be sure you’re available in Minneapolis during the dates and times above. Rehearsals begin via Zoom March 31 - April 4 in the evenings and continue in Minneapolis April 7 - 17 in the evenings. Tech and shoot dates will take place April 21 - 29 during regular working hours.

Katrina (F, 30s)
A hipster trad wife with a punk edge, Katrina is deeply engaged in the world of "liberty-minded" online discourse. She balances her anarchist ideals with an unexpected curiosity about new ideas, even as she navigates tension with her partner, Dennis. Think cottagecore meets digital provocateur. Must be comfortable with comedic timing and dark satire.
Dennis (M, 40s)
A self-described "karate man" and co-host of The Edge of Liberty, Dennis embodies the contradictions of a modern anarchist grifter. He dresses like a Nine Inch Nails roadie, wields a katana, and is fervently committed to his on-air persona. Actor should excel in delivering absurdist dialogue with conviction. Gary (M, 20s)
The beleaguered producer of The Edge of Liberty, Gary is a scruffy, out-of-work lumberjack type who doesn’t get much sun. Though often the butt of the joke, Gary is endearing and integral to the group's dynamic. Comedic chops are essential for this role, must be comfortable kissing on camera. Pam (F, 20s)
A fashionable, annoyingly intelligent "sexpert,” Zoomer, and social media provocateur, Pam is an established Internet micro-celebrity looking to level up. She’s sharp, captivating, and unafraid to push boundaries. An eGirl troll and crypto grifter. Actor should be able to deliver high-energy monologues with both charm and intensity. Must be comfortable kissing on camera.
