This production of The Crucible will be set in a modern-day cult, several rehearsals will focus on us as a cast deciding on the rules of the cult and how Salem society works. The production will be heightened and physical. We are committed to non-traditional casting, we want to find the right actor for the right role. Night Fire is committed to casting a divers company and will not be bound by the gender roles and race depictions written in the script.
The director will use various clowning, dance and physical techniques to create this production. This is a great chance to learn new ways to approach classical and text heavy scripts.
We are excited to be working with Living Spirit United Methodist Church. We will be rehearsing and performing at the Church.
This production is a re-mount of a production that was staged in the summer of 2023.

Audition/rehearsal details are as follows:
Auditions will be held on Monday 9th December and Tuesday 10th December.
Please prepare a short audition monologue. You may also be asked to read from some sides. These will be sent to you once you have secured an audition time. Please take a moment to read them (you will not be expected to be off book).
We will have three available time slots for auditions, each time slot will have space for FIVE auditions, and you will be seen on a first come first served basis.

Rehearsal Details:
Rehearsals begin Monday 13th January.
Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday in the evenings and Sunday afternoons. Not everyone will be called to all rehearsals.
Production dates are as follows:
Opening night will be held on Thursday 20th March 2025 and run for 4 weekends. Performance days will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm with a Sunday Matinee scheduled for Sunday 30th March at 2:30pm. (Please note that Sunday 6th April will be tentatively held as an additional Matinee).

*NOTE* We will have a gathering on Wednesday 18 December for people to come and pick up the script in book form and meet the rest of the cast. If you are unable to make this date we will email you a PDF version of the script.
There are two versions of the script in circulation, please bear in mind that there may be alterations to the script once we are in in rehearsal and start incorporating the additional language.
Additionally, we will be casting more people than noted in the script, if you miss out on picking up the book form of the script we will provide you with a hardcopy of the PDF version at the first rehearsal.
