Attention all makers of merry!
We are DeCantus, a five-part a cappella vocal group performing in costume at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. We are currently auditioning for all voice parts. We strive for musical excellence, professionalism and fun! Group singing experience is a necessity.
Commitment requirements are as follows:
- Attend Tuesday evening rehearsals 7-9pm April 1- August 12
- Memorize repertoire of approx. 40 pieces consisting of traditional folk songs, pub songs, sea shanties, and more.
- Performance dates are weekends and Labor Day, Aug.16 -Sept. 28
You will receive admission into the Renaissance Festival, Free passes for family/friends, Free food vouchers, a small payment at the end of the season, and a lot of enjoyment and memories!
Audition dates are:
Sunday, March 2nd
Tuesday, March 4th
Sunday, March 9th
Tuesday, March 11th
No prepared audition piece required. Audition consists of a few vocal exercises to check vocal range, sight reading, My Country Tis of Thee, a group blend exercise and interview.
