Albino Squirrel Productions is seeking performers for our upcoming production of "Wellstone: A Minnesotan Musical," revised and remounted from its original appearance in the 2017 Minnesota Fringe Festival.
"Wellstone" is the biographical tale of U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone, who represented Minnesota from 1991 up until his untimely death in 2002. Directed by Cayla Marie Wolpers and with music direction by Nathan Aastuen, and featuring seven original songs by Bryn Tanner and Zach Miller, the story spans from Paul's early days as an activist up to his prolific Senate career.
In-person auditions will be held at the Phoenix Theater on the evening of Thursday, August 15 from 6PM-10PM (signup link below). Virtual auditions will also be accepted via email up until 10PM CST on August 15. Auditioners will be asked to prepare a singing audition (no longer than 1 minute) and a contemporary monologue (either dramatic or comedic, again no longer than 1 minute). Accompanist will be provided, though tracks are encouraged! Callbacks will be held as the production team feels necessary on August 20.

As well as a number of Greek Chorus roles to be assigned amongst the cast (all performers aside from Paul, Sheila and Stephen will be expected to play multiple roles), with a flexible cast size of 7-12 performers.
All roles are open based on age, gender identity and sexual orientation. We are strongly encouraging auditioners belonging to the Jewish community for the specific roles of Paul, Stephen and Norm, as well as those of African American descent for the specific role of Jesse Jackson.
