Comedy, Cabaret/Variety

Utterly unique in the comedy world, Ikechukwu Ufomadu creates performances blurring the line between stand-up comedy, classic variety shows, and performance art--slyly subversive, but also warm and welcoming, bringing everybody along for a surprising and hilarious evening. “Waggishly charming...with a confidence as big as all outdoors.” (Time Out New York)

Ikechukwu Ufomadu is an actor, comedian and entertainer-at-large, named 1 of 5 “Comics to Watch in 2018” by Time Out New York, and the recipient of a 2019 Drama Desk award for his work in Clare Barron’s DANCE NATION.

He played a featured supporting role in the Oscar-nominated JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH (Warner Bros) opposite Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield. He’s also made TV appearances on JOE PERA TALKS WITH YOU (Adult Swim), THREE BUSY DEBRAS (Adult Swim), FLATBUSH MISDEMEANORS (Showtime) and PATRIOT ACT (Netflix). He’ll next be seen on LOS ESPOOKYS (HBO). He wrote for the show PAID OFF (TruTV) and is currently a writer and performer on the Emmy-nominated STEPHEN COLBERT PRESENTS TOONING OUT THE NEWS (Paramount Plus).

He co-wrote and stars in the feature film INSPECTOR IKE (Factory 25/BRIC), which won the Jury Prize at the New Orleans Film Festival. He’s created original pieces of theatre, comedy and performance for venues including The Public Theater, Joe’s Pub, Ars Nova, Bushwick Starr, JACK, Union Hall, San Francisco Sketchfest, The Kennedy Center and more.

His work has received development support from Joe’s Pub Working Group, SPACE at Ryder Farm and Ground Floor at Berkeley Rep, and has been recognized in the New York Times, Time Out New York, New York Magazine, Playboy and more. He was an inaugural recipient of the Jerome Foundation Artist Fellowship.
