As You Like It by William Shakespeare

Following a huge political upheaval, a ragtag band of misfits are exiled into a mystical forest. Stripped of their power, money, and material possessions, they are forced to reconsider what's actually important ... which is love. Obviously. Live music. Stage combat. Strong women. What’s not to love?

Why see this version?

Firstly, this is a rockstar outfit featuring primarily women and man, are they a tour de force of passion and intellect. Secondly, this story is being performed in the one and only Plymouth Playhouse, which is a gorgeous and comfortable theater built in the basement of a hotel. Could you ask for a more picturesque location to house the fantasical Forest of Arden? Thirdly, this production has an awesome musical composer and they have infused the play with funny, wrenching, and heart warming live music. And lastly, everyone has worked hard to breathe new life into this classic tale and it really would be a shame if we couldn't share that with you. And afterall, this play is about finding love and friendship in a world full of distrust, danger, and betrayal, sound like a world you know?

Bringing fierce guitar playing and swing to gospel music, Sister Rosetta Tharpe influenced rock musicians from Elvis to Jimi Hendrix and Ray Charles. The story begins in a funeral parlor in Mississippi, as Rosetta and her young protégé, Marie Knight, prepare for a tour that will establish them as a great musical duo. Hear renditions of spirituals like “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?” and “Sit Down,” to distinctly non-religious songs like “I Want a Tall Skinny Papa.” Wendy Knox directs the regional premiere of this play with music by George Brant.

Jessica Lind Peterson’s original holiday comedy is back and sillier than ever! Soap opera star Colin Avery returns to his Minnesota roots to take over Christmas Lake Community Theater after his father dies. Colin's new wife Tess – a city girl with zero tolerance for mosquitoes – comes along for the ride only to find the theater on the verge of bankruptcy. After losing the rights to It’s a Wonderful Life, they race to come up with another play. With piano tuner and Little House fanatic Neil Gunderson, and lizard-loving massage therapist Martha Knutson as the only cast members, hilarity ensues as this unlikely bunch scramble to save the theater. There’s true love and off-key Christmas carols, lutefisk and bearded dragons, and best of all, unexpected miracles happen.  A ridiculous and heart-warming holiday comedy guaranteed to tickle the funny bone of lutefisk-eating Minnesotans everywhere!  “A madcap holiday farce!” – Twin Cities Daily Planet

From the basement to the barn, your beloved Church Basement Ladies are back and getting busy with life outside the kitchen. After the last of the hotdish is served, the coffee pot is emptied, and the Jello molds are put away, these steadfast, sturdy women head to their farms, peel off their good girdles, and get on with their daily chores. In between picking eggs, milking cows, and dusting knickknacks, they congregate with some of the other lovable folks who inhabit this rural community: Earl, who delivers the mail up and down Rural Route One; Fergus, the hired man; and Tillie, who chronicles the action for the Fish County Weekly.

With plenty of crazy antics, loads of fresh laughs, and spanking new original songs, YOU SMELL BARN celebrates rural life in the 1950’s. And, at the center of it all, are your favorite Church Basement Ladies. Whether you’ve seen several versions, or are new to the world of the basement, the 7th in the Church Basement Ladies series is a musical treat for all.

Inspired by Ingmar Bergman's 1966 psychological film, PERSONA, ANIMUS uses performance, multi-media projection, and live video captured onstage to explore the merging identities of two modern women, one who speaks and one who doesn't, who compare hands and "get all mixed up in one another." Focusing on themes of identity, shame and voyeurism, ANIMUS explores not only personal identity, but also online personas, blurring what is real and what is fake.

ANIMUS is created and performed by Emily Michaels King and Debra Berger of E/D and Amber Johnson of DangerVision Productions.

Additional Information:
ANIMUS is presented as part of the Ingmar Bergman Jubilee. The year 2018 marks 100 years since the birth of Ingmar Bergman: world-famous filmmaker, legendary theatre director and exceptional writer. In this rip-roaring classic, the audience is treated to a hilarious behind-the-scenes peek at an acting troupe rehearsing and performing the farce Nothing On. Despite nerves, dropped lines and technical difficulties, they make it through rehearsal and open the show. As time goes by, things deteriorate until pandemonium ensues and axe-wielding co-stars, drunken cast members and misplaced sardines take center stage during a disaster of a performance that threatens to jinx the old saying, “The show must go on.”

Cast: Ryan Nelson, Jessie Rae Rayle, Mary Fox, Jason Peterson, Ryan Lear, Miriam Monasch & Diana Jurand

Audience favorite Bradley Greenwald celebrates winter’s beauty, the holiday blues, and the soul’s need for rebirth in an eclectic program of words and music as kaleidoscopic as the season. A meditative and joyful performance sure to warm snow-covered hearts!

First presented in December 2013, Bradley Greenwald, along with pianist Sonja Thompson, create a meditative and joyful performance of music and poems embracing the longest and darkest night of the year.

Celebrating and embracing winter, the holidays and "hell-i-days," Seasonal Affective Disorder, friends, family, Christians, and Pagans, Greenwald brings light and levity as well as reflection and renewal to the season. Rodgers and Hart, Leonard Cohen, Purcell, J. S. Bach, Sting, Peter Mayer, Dar Williams, and more get their songs sung, with a little Margaret Atwood, Joseph Campbell, and Ogden Nash thrown in for good measure.

Celebrating the longest night of the year goes back to Stonehenge and Machu Picchu, Roman Saturnalia, and the Viking Yule. Its traditions defined when and how Christians celebrate Christmas. Bradley celebrates winter, the holiday blues, excess, and the soul's need for rebirth in an eclectic program of text and music.
