ValleyScare Seeking Seasonal Technicians

Valleyfair Amusement Park is seeking technicians for our ValleyScare event!

Valleyfair is hiring lighting and sound technicians to operate live shows, as well as technicians of all specialties that roam and maintain our scare attractions.

There is also opportunity to acquire additional hours by working as a technician for the daytime event, Tricks & Treats.

Job Details

Live Show Technicians

• If available, assist with load in during the first 3 weeks of September
• Attend tech rehearsals the week of Sept 16 (exact days/times determined by assigned show)
• Set up and strike technical elements of live shows as assigned
• Operate lighting and/or sound for live shows as assigned
• If available, assist with load out during the first week of November

Scare Attraction Technicians

• If available, assist with load in during the first 3 weeks of September
• Actively monitor status of technical elements of scare attractions, including lighting, sound, scenic, video, atmospheric effects
• Actively monitor and adjust fog machines to fit atmospheric needs
• Work with area supervisor to determine plans for both short-term and long-term repairs to ensure continued operation of scare attractions
• If available, assist with load out during the first week of November

Rate of pay for above positions is $17/hour, to be paid bi-weekly.

Willing to negotiate rate for a technician with busking experience suited to a live DJ show! Please email as soon as possible if you have this experience.

Schedule

ValleyScare

Standard availability needed:

• Friday evenings from September 20 - October 25
• Saturday evenings from September 21 - October 26

On all operating days, you will be scheduled roughly 4:30pm -- 1:00am.
The start time is flexible up to 6:00pm.

Rehearsal and training hours would be determined by your availability and the role assigned to you.

Tricks and Treats

Tricks and Treats is the daytime, family-friendly event.
While we are primarily hiring for the nighttime hours of ValleyScare, there is also opportunity for daytime work!

Standard availability needed:

• Saturdays from September 28 - October 26, approximately 10:30am-5:30pm
• Sundays from September 29 - October 27, approximately 10:30am-6:00pm

Non-Operating Hours

There is opportunity for work during non-operating hours if you are interested and available! Work would include show and attraction repair/improvement projects, refilling fog reservoirs across the park, and equipment organization/maintenance.
