Ashland Productions Hiring Teaching Artists

Ashland Productions is hiring directing staff for its 2024-2025 season ACT Program.

The ACT Program is a unique partnership between Ashland Productions and Elementary Schools in the East Metro. It’s an introductory program where everyone gets a line, everyone gets to sing and dance, and everyone is onstage all the time! Ashland trains and assigns one or two teaching artists to go into each partner school to teach a cast of 30-65 elementary students a full children's musical, including lines, songs and choreography. The cast then comes to the Ashland stage for tech week, in which they familiarize themselves with costumes, sets, lights and microphones, before performing 2-3 times for the public.

Rate of Pay:

$1200.00

Positions are paid $1,200 for two-three rehearsals per week (2-3 hours total) for 8-16 weeks and additional time during tech week and performances. This is a great supplementary opportunity for theater/music/dance teaching artists as well as applicants with an interest in working with youth.

ACT Directors:

  • Love theater and have experience in musicals as artists (directors, performers, vocal directors and/or choreographers);

  • Love working with and have experience with elementary age students;

  • Teach pre-established choreography and blocking while creating a welcoming and fun environment.

To apply:

Send a resume and references to Jack Lambert, Youth Programming Director ([email protected]). Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Submission deadline is November 29th but some positions will be filled before then. Contact Jack with any questions.
