Rosetown Playhouse Hiring Production Staff for Winter Adult Show
Respond by:Rosetown Playhouse is hiring for our winter adult show. Dedicated to building community & creating theater, Rosetown is looking for "outside the box" thinkers who are good collaborators and encourage actors ages 17-99 to have fun on stage.
Seeking: Production Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Propsmaster (details below).
Important Dates:
Auditions will be held in Mid-January.
Rehearsals will be scheduled Mon-Thursday evenings beginning in February 2025.
Performances at Roseville Area Middle School March 20-23.

PRODUCTION MANAGER (Stipend ~ $1000 )
The production manager is a major liaison with rehearsal spaces, organizes volunteers, and runs the front-of-house on performances. This person should have excellent communication, relationship building, and collaboration skills. We have many existing resources and systems that a production manager can make use of.
General Production Team Member Responsibilities
- Attend weekly production meetings (scheduled based on availability)
- Communicate with production team members via email and in person
- Willingness to adapt to changing needs throughout rehearsal process
Production Manager Responsibilities
- Coordinates and runs weekly production team meetings (includes sending out notes afterwards and getting meetings scheduled)
- Act as liaison with ISD 623 and other rehearsal spaces
- Reserve truck/trailer for set moving
- Coordinate postering day
- Coordinate t-shirt orders
- Gather information for show program, getting information to program designer (in consultation with board members)
- Solicits volunteers for the show; creates volunteer schedule
- At performances, coordinate volunteers and front of house activities (including lobby set-up)
- Help with general concerns of cast
- Attend select all-cast rehearsals (TBD with directors and stage manager) to assist when needed
- Create show file at completion of performances
- Contribute to positive attitude at rehearsals and performances
ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER (Stipend ~ $700 )
The assistant stage manager is a key contributor to the show, assisting the stage manager in executing the many functions of cast management and the technical aspects of the show. We view this role as an opportunity for an individual with skills in organization and people management to learn how Rosetown Playhouse functions with the potential to take on the stage manager role in future productions. Stipend:
General Production Team Member Responsibilities
- Attend weekly production meetings (scheduled based on availability)
- Communicate with production team members via email and in person
- Willingness to adapt to changing needs throughout rehearsal process
- Assist stage manager in their tasks
Auditions & Rehearsal Responsibilities
- Attend required rehearsals (approximately ¾ of rehearsals), all tech week rehearsals, and all performances
- Assist SM with the compilation of cast materials
- Assist with auditions
- Assist with rehearsal set-up and clean-up
- Assist with rehearsals; this includes blocking notes/notetaking or helping cast management during all-cast rehearsals.
- Help keep cast members on track at rehearsals in positive and effective ways
Performance Responsibilities
- In charge of props for rehearsals and performances, including creating props lists and supervising packing/setting up of props each night
- Assist with set-up and tear down of all performances
- Work all performances
- Contribute to positive attitude at rehearsals and performances
PROPSMASTER (Stipend ~ $600 )
The propsmaster is responsible for the props vision of the show. This person has the unique opportunity of using existing inventory, creating new pieces, and helping cast members find some basic pieces.

- Willingness to adapt to changing needs throughout rehearsal process
- Propsmaster Responsibilities
- Meets with director prior to first rehearsal to understand director’s vision of the show
- Checks in weekly with director and/or stage manager for props updates
- Provides all props by deadline agreed upon by director
- Uses existing prop inventory whenever possible
- Designs, acquires, builds, and/or rents appropriate props for all cast
- Coordinates volunteers to help build props (if needed)
- Works with stage manager to communicate with cast about any props they can help with
- Works with stage manager to communicate with cast about use of props or any props changes
- Adjusts, maintains, and repairs props during run of show
- Collects all props at end of run
- Returns all props to appropriate storage (or renter)
- Updates props inventory at end of show, including which props have been altered from existing collection and what has been added to inventory
- Stays within allocated props budgets; communicates with production manager about any budgetary concerns
