Stage Manager for Spring Production of Patience
Respond by:SThe Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Company is seeking a Stage Manager for its March - April 2025 production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience.
This position pays a stipend of $1200. We are seeking a candidate with experience stage managing large-cast productions. At least one Assistant Stage Manager attends each rehearsal. Representative responsibilities include:
- Prepare rehearsal and performance spaces and attend all rehearsals and performances.
- Communicate announcements and schedule updates to cast.
- Attend all rehearsals and production meetings.
- Write and distribute rehearsal, production meeting, and performance reports.
- Facilitate communication between production staff members and with cast.
- Take blocking and line notes.
- Record and post videos of musical numbers.
- Call cues during the run of the show and run light board.
- Oversee 3 assistant stage managers.
- Coordinate the performance start and progress with the conductor and house staff.
- Develop preset lists and running order lists and supervise backstage crew.
- Assist with strike following final performance.
Our production schedule outline is as follows:
Rehearsals January 20 - February 22: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings, 6:30 – 9:30 pm, and Saturday mornings, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55409
February 23 - March 1: Load in and rehearsals in the theater
March 9, 10, 12: Dress rehearsals
Performances (13 over four weekends): March 14 - April 6, 2025
