IMMEDIATELY seeking Pianist for 35MM: A Musical Exhibition
Respond by:Weird Kid Productions is immediately seeking a pianist for 35MM: A Musical Exhibition by Ryan Scott Oliver, directed by Caiti Fallon, music directed by Ani Tonoyan. To be presented as a part of UMN Acting BFA's 2025 Free Play Weekend.
- The stipend available for this position is $250
- The production is willing to be flexible with time; all actors & directors are currently college students
- Must be comfortable playing a complex score (examples of sheet music are available upon request).
Production
35MM is a song cycle inspired by photography: how a still image can create a world, and interrogates the nature of how art inspires itself. It acts as a collection of stories that asks its audience: "Is a picture really worth 1,000 words?" (According to Ryan Scott Oliver & Matthew Murphy...yes.)
This particular production will be presented as a part of UMN Acting BFA's 2025 Free Play Weekend (Feb. 14-16). This is a weekend comprised of the BFA's senior class presenting their theses; most of which being performances spread amongst the weekend in the Rarig Center.
To be presented cabaret-style; minimal movement, with focus on the music.
Rehearsals
- Rehearsals to begin the week of 1/20
- We are very willing to be flexible with your availability! You will not be required to attend every rehearsal, but more availability is preferred.
- Current rehearsal schedule is 7-10 on weekdays (Mon, Tues, Fridays), and 12-5 on weekends.
- Tech currently TBD, but anticipated either the weekend before (2/7-2/9), or the week of 2/10.
Performance
- Performance is one night only on 2/14 (Valentine's Day) that evening.
