...HER'S A QUEEN
Bears and nuns, snakes and knives, wrestling matches and cuddle parties all appear in …HER'S A QUEEN, Neal Medlyn’s meditation on all things Britney Spears and the public’s fascination with celebrity and pop culture. Liberally mixing fact and fiction, the piece draws from a wealth of Britney interviews, songs, and biography, as well as the author’s own personal history, to present a complex rendering of stardom’s contradictions, the toll it takes on those who reach its apex, and our appetite for each salacious detail.
Red Eye celebrates the opening of its 35th season with company co-founders Steve Busa and Miriam Must’s farewell production as leaders of the Twin Cities’ preeminent experimental theater and performance laboratory.
…HER’S A QUEEN, scheduled from September 21 through 29, will be the final production at Red Eye’s longtime home in its storefront theater in the Loring Park neighborhood, as the company completes a planned leadership transition and shifts into temporary nomadic mode while laying the groundwork to establish a new performance space.
