Join Teatro del Pueblo and the Boriken Cultural Center for a one-night, free public reading of The Chrysalis, a new play by local Miguel Enrique Fiol with Joe Moses. The play was a finalist for the 2022 Miranda Family Many Voces Latinx National Playwriting Competition and the winner of Teatro del Pueblo's Visiones Award, and it explores relationships in a multi-generational Puerto Rican family journey from the Spanish rule in the 1890s to the 1980s aids epidemic, when misinformation about AIDs threatens their lives and livelihoods. A group discussion will follow the show.

This free reading is part of the Caribbean Music & Theatre Fest, which takes place Oct. 7-15 at the Gremlin. Make sure to check out the other events!
