Phantom Chorus Theatre, in collaboration with Arts Nest, is bringing to life the beloved young adult fantasy novel, “Dealing With Dragons” by Patricia Wrede.  This will be the first time this novel is brought to the stage, with an original adaptation by Jenna Papke.  Phantom Chorus specializes in visually stunning shows, using puppetry and movement to harness the power of imagination, to make the impossible real.  “Wrede’s book is full of magic and fun, and that’s exactly what we want the show to be” co-director Thalia states.   The story’s main dragon, Kazul, will be a fully articulated puppet, about 10 feet tall, operated by 3 puppeteers.  Many other new puppets will be featured in the show, like more dragons, birds, and cats, to name a few. “With a fantastical story like this, puppetry just feels like a natural fit. I can’t think of any better way to bring these larger-than-life dragons to the stage!” says co-director Marc.  Live Foley sound effects and an original harpsichord score will further enhance the magic of the show. Dealing With Dragons stars 13 local actors and puppeteers, and will be performed 11 times from January 17 - February 2nd at the Phoenix Theater.  The show is great for all ages, but keep in mind for those younger than 5 that it does run 2 hours, with an intermission.

RATING - All ages!  Due to the length of the show, we recommend it for those older than 5.
