MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – After the success of their first horror show “Victor Invictus” in fall of 2022 at the Twin Cities Horror Fest, Phantom Chorus Theatre (PCT) debuts their second original horror play, “Jabberwock” this February at The Phoenix Theater. In “Victor”, they created a terrifying 7 foot tall puppet of Frankenstein’s Creature - awarded “Best Monster” at Reverend Matt’s Annual Monster Science Awards. In “Jabberwock,” the horrifying puppet will be an Eldritch monstrosity of even more epic, and gigantic, proportions. “We’re taking it up a notch, from 3 puppeteers to five, to operate this one!” co-director Thalia Kostman explains.
Co-artistic directors of PCT Thalia and Marc Berg have written the original script and will direct the show. This will be PCT’s 5th production, the theatre company having been founded in winter of 2022. Each production features original music from local composers - this time, the work of Luci Smith will fill the space, the atmosphere filled with sounds of synth and DAW. Live Foley sound effects will also help kick the horror factor up to a whole new level. Actors Nora Targonski-O’Brien and Edd Jones will play the leads: two robbers hiding out in a remote North American cabin in the early 1900s, contending with this mysterious cosmic horror lurking in the wilderness. “As with many of our shows, ‘Jabberwock’ is another ambitious attempt at thrilling audiences with something they’ve never seen on stage before. It promises to be a mind-bending, stomach-turning good time!” says co-director Marc. “Jabberwock” performs 5 times between February 22-25th, evenings at 7pm and matinees at 2pm, at The Phoenix Theater on Hennepin in Uptown.
