Biography

Jay Owen Eisenberg is an actor, director, writer, and arts educator based in Minneapolis by way of New York City and Los Angeles. He is a teaching artist with the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and the University of Minnesota. As a performer and director, Jay works with Open Eye Figure Theatre, Children's Theatre Company, Pillsbury House + Theatre, Penumbra Theater, History Theatre, Mixed Blood Theatre, Theater Latte Da, Jungle Theater, and the Playwrights' Center, among others. Committed to assisting artists in developing their original work, Jay is the Program Coordinator for Open Eye Figure Theatre's FUSEBOX artist residency. He is the recipient of a 2017 MSAB Artist Initiative Grant (Theatre) and a 2016 SPACE on Ryder Farm Residency (Poetry). Jay received his BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts (Experimental Theatre Wing), and he is a proud member of both AEA and SAG-AFTRA. As a writer, he is represented by Alloy Entertainment.
