Laura Esping is a Twin Cities actor/educator and grateful to be part of such a vibrant theatre community.  She was a founding member of Geese Theatre for Corrections, a company devoted to performing and conducting theatre workshops for prison inmates across the country.  She served as tour director/actor/educator for tours around the Mid-West, East Coast and Southern states.  After moving to Minneapolis, Laura had the honor and pleasure to perform with many local companies including At the Foot of the Mountain, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre,  The Jungle Theater, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Illusion Theatre, Pillsbury house, Park Square Theatre, Penumbra Theatre, Old Log Theatre, Full Circle Theatre, History Theatre and Yellow Tree Theatre.   Shows at the Guthrie include Christmas Carol, Playboy of the Western World, The Venetian Twins, The Invention of Love, Amadeus, Resurrection Blues, Comedy of Errors, Major Barbara, Jane Eyre, Much Ado About Nothing,Tales from Hollywood and Pride and Prejudice.  Laura toured with the Guthrie and taught community workshops to students of all ages across the Mid-West with shows A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ah, Wilderness, Molly Sweeney (playing Molly), and Stuff of Dreams.  As an educator at the Guthrie she has worked in the summer camp programs, taught with Schools on Stage, and in the Guthrie in the Parks, Target Play date, library programs, special community request classes, and has taught acting levels I and II for the community.  Laura holds a BA from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the University of Minnesota where she taught movement to undergraduates.  She has taught both Intro to Theatre and acting classes at Concordia University in St Paul.
