Mason’s current news

Mason is currently in preproduction for Begets: Fall of a High School Ronin by Qui Ngyuen with Park High school, and assistant teaching unarmed stage combat classes with Mike Lubke of Art in Arms.

He was recently a PA and COVID Compliance Officer for the 2021 National Stage Combat Workshop, a summer intensive teaching the fundamentals of stage combat performance by the Society of American Fight Directors. He also violence-directed Twelfth Night with Concordia Academy, and violence-directed/intimacy co-directed Heathers the Musical with Ashland Alumni Association.

Mason is the project leader for Mastercuts with Six Elements Theatre, a new work-in-progress focused on creating an epic within 1400s Europe centered on the rescue mission of famed swordmaster Johannes Liechtenauer by their most skilled students.

A graduate of Iowa State University, Mason Tyer is excited to work with the Twin Cities community. He is a company member of Six Elements Theatre and a founder of Red Dice Collective, as well as an assistant teacher and choreographer for the stage combat organizations Art in Arms and Fake Fighting Company.
