Ruthie Baker recently moved back to the Twin Cities after nearly 10 years in NYC. She is currently in Melancholy Play with Theatre Elision at the Crane Theatre March 1-4th. This summer she will be back at the History Theatre for the 4th run of Glensheen.
Previously she has been seen in Ruthless with Theatre Elision, Violet at Yellow Tree Theatre, Glensheen at the History Theatre and Cleo in Second Fiddle Productions The Most Happy Fella. Other recent projects include The Music Man at the Guthrie Theater, Christmas of Swing at The History Theatre, 9 to 5 the Musical at the Tent Theatre in Missouri and Sisters of Swing at the History Theatre. Ruthie has also worked with Riverside Theatre, Ocean Professional Theatre Co., Totem Pole Playhosue, Paul Bunyan Playhouse, Plymouth Playhosue, Nautilus Music Theatre and the MN Fringe Festival. In New York Ruthie did several readings with the Manhattan Theatre Club, Manhattan JCC, B Side Productions and the NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. In 2014 she founded Second Fiddle Productions: A Staged Reading Series that breathes life into uncommon and rarely produced musicals. Second Fiddle has featured more than 75 artists in it's 10 staged readings thus far: Meet Me In St. Louis, A New Brain, Chess, 110 In the Shade, Titanic, Drood, Little Women, The Most Happy Fella, Blood Brothers and the MN professional premiere of Baby.
