Written and Directed by Ben Thietje

Music Direction by Bradley Beahen

Production Information

Director’s Note

Not your standard holiday comedy. SANTA’S MAGIC MEAT RAFFLE includes huge characters, absurd situations, and a very specific Midwestern sensibility. Some things the cast will consist of:

  • Actors who embrace ensemble play
  • Actors that can help make a weird original script even weirder and more original
  • Actors who love getting a comedy assist
  • Actors who are kind and generous onstage and in the rehearsal room

Lyric Arts’ Commitment to Diversity and Inclusive Casting

Lyric Arts is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We are actively seeking a diverse cast of actors for SANTA’S MAGIC MEAT RAFFLE. All auditions shall be conducted in a manner that promotes fair consideration to persons of all races, ethnicities, national origins, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, ability statuses, and body types. Actors who encounter ways in which our auditions do not meet these standards are encouraged to contact us directly using our auditions email

If you are an artist of the Global Majority and are unable to secure an in-person audition slot due to slots filling up, please email Lyric ArtsProduction Associate, Laini Devin.

NOW IS THE TIME. Just please, nothing longer than 2 minutes. If you’d like to sing, please attend Monday auditions and include <1 MINUTE of holiday vocal cheer.

Note: Please note that Lyric Arts is seeking to cast folks 18+ local to the Twin Cities. At this time, Lyric Arts is unable to provide housing or transportation to and from the theatre.

In order to make efficient use of actors’ time, specific callback times for individual artists will be determined by the artistic staff and communicated to those called back.

COVID-19 Safety

Due to WHO declaring COVID-19 a non-public health crisis, Lyric Arts Company of Anoka is no longer requiring mandatory weekly testing and masking while in rehearsal and performances. Rapid COVID-19 tests are still onsite and available to take in the event a known exposure has occurred and/or someone is experiencing symptoms and would like to test just to be safe.

While we highly encourage people participating in Lyric Arts’ productions to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, it is no longer a mandatory condition to be fully vaccinated in order to audition, design, stage manage or otherwise be a part of a production team or process. Proof of vaccination OR a letter of exemption will still be required when filling out the audition form. Based on the risk level at any given time, it may be asked of those who are unvaccinated to test weekly and wear a mask while rehearsing and those who are vaccinated may be asked to wear a mask.

Disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and masks will remain onsite to ensure best practices regarding cleanliness are followed and to ensure the comfortability of those in the building.

Please contact Production Associate Laini Devin with any further questions or concerns regarding Lyric Arts’ updated COVID policy.
