Audition Notice: Female Figures: A Movement Play

Synopsis: “Female Figures” is a new sensual Femme-queer movement play that follows the story of three young women each struggling with trauma of their own. As these women battle Addiction, Sexual Assault, and Mental Health Issues they come to the realization that they hold something much more powerful in them. Each of them are gifted young witches and quickly find themselves stuck between power and isolation. The women find each other and a coven of other witches just like them who help them process and cope with their individual trauma leading the play into a revenge plot for these witches against their abusers.
A trained intimacy director will be present during the rehearsal process.
Seeking actors with strong physical story telling abilities
Performances: October 8-11 at the Phoenix Theater
Rehearsals begin August 7th, evenings after 5:30 and weekends
Will be held 3-4 nights a week based on actor availability

ROLES
DIAMOND: (Transfemme/F) Young witch struggling with sexual assault within an abusive relationship with MAN. Her powers are being able to control others.
SPADE: (F) Young witch struggling with bipolar disorder and self harm. She is in a relationship with Zombie. Her powers are light and fire control.
CLUB: (F) Young witch struggling with OCD and Alcoholism. She is in a relationship with kindling. Her powers are telekinesis.
CHAOS OF RAGE: (F) Main force within the Ancient trio of entities pushing the characters into aggressive domains and amplifying the characters hate.
CHAOS OF SADNESS: (F) One of the Ancient Chaos trio causing conflict within sadness pushing characters to their mental breaking point and allowing sorrow to overwhelm.
CHAOS OF LUST: (F) One of the chaos trio specifically causing conflict within sensual relationships. Lust puts a veil on toxic relationships and allows abuse to take root.
MAN: (M) Physically abusive boyfriend to Diamond. This is a shirtless role.
KINDLING: (M) Alcoholic abusive boyfriend to Club tempting her into triggers.
BONES: (Transmasc/M/Butch) New Partner to diamond, a strong supportive, kinky love showing the strength of queer love.
ZOMBIE: (M) Cheating boyfriend of Spade. SPFX makeup role.
ENSEMBLE: (F) Acting as a greek chorus for the play representing other women, emotions, and a coven.
