Sweeney Todd is considered by many to be one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) musicals of all time. It is a tale of love, injustice, revenge, power, greed, humanity, and forgiveness. It is a musical that unites a company to tell a story filled with chilling and memorable characters, accompanied by one of the most amazing ensembles ever created for the musical theatre stage.  With driven ensemble characters who perform their roles in solo, duet, trio, quintet, as well as a collective whole, along with the principal characters, Sweeney Todd-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a masterpiece every musical theatre actor would want to have on their resume.

Characters (all roles are open)

Note: We seek to be as inclusive as possible and ask gender non-conforming, gender queer, transgender, non-binary, and all races and ethnicities to audition for any role they choose, and they will be open for consideration in casting.

Ensemble – The ensemble is multi-faceted. They play roles of customers, townspeople, police, inmates at the insane asylum, and Sweeneys ' customers/victims. At times, as storytellers, they possess the omniscient ability to investigate Sweeney’s mind and share their ominous insights with the audience. Within the very active ensemble, there are many individual spotlight moments with solos & small groups. All vocal ranges (soprano, mezzo, alto, tenor, baritone, bass) are needed.
