The rock cycle, as we know it, takes a long time. A really, really long time. None of us will live to see a single, complete rock cycle, unless we’re planning on sticking around for hundreds of thousands of years. But somewhere in Minnesota, an intrepid geologist has been subjecting himself to hours of isolation, rigorous calisthenics, and countless cups of coffee with one idea in mind: it is possible to speed up the rock cycle.
And he’s going to be the one to do it.
His research methods might be unconventional, but he’s so close to his breakthrough that he can almost taste it. Sometimes literally.
BIG OLD ROCK is inspired by greater Minnesota’s rich geological history, transgender identity, and a little bit of actual science.
