Auditions for African American female actors and Latino male actor for Capitol Play Project

Wonderlust Productions is producing a huge show about the people who work at Minnesota's State Capitol, to be performed all over the Capitol building. The play is based on stories collected from people who work at the Capitol, and the majority of the cast will be made up of people who have worked there. It is a unique collaboration between professional theater artists and the authentic experience and perspective of community.

We are seeking to fill three parts in this show:

  • Female, African-American, 18 to mid-20s
  • Female, African-American, early 40s
  • Male, Latino, late 20s to late 40s

At this point we are casting just for the workshop phase of the production, which includes a few rehearsals and a public reading. After the reading, we will consider the actors cast in the workshop for the full production as well, so ideally, we'd like to see actors who are available for both.

Auditions for these parts: Monday, August 21 (a 15 minute slot between 6:30 and 9:00 pm)

Schedule for workshop and reading:
Rehearsals for workshop: Evenings, 8/31, 9/6, 9/7
Rehearsal and public reading: 9/9, 10 am - 3 pm

Schedule for full production (if cast after workshop and reading):
Rehearsals: weeknights and weekends, November 7 through January 17 (with breaks for holidays)
Performances: weeknights and weekends, January 18 - February 4

These are non AEA parts. Pay for the workshop and reading is $100 stipend. Pay for the full production will be a weekly stipend.
