The School for New Theatre has limited public audition slots available for its fall module course, The Expressive Performer.
Led by Head of School Karim Muasher alongside Lead Teachers Ryan Underbakke and Diogo Lopes, the School for New Theatre is a new physical theatre and devising school based in the Lecoq pedagogy. It provides performance-based training that empowers students to find their unique creative voice, facilitating a process of self-discovery that places artistic power in hands of the individual. The school is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and offers training courses locally, nationally, and internationally.
This fall's module course, The Expressive Performer, takes place over six weeks of study, and focuses on how a deeper understanding of body, rhythm, and space can lead us to become more engaging performers and storytellers. It is designed to leave students with a new set of approaches applicable to all modes of performance, as well as tangible skills directly related to the performance of theatre.
Auditions are August 19 and 20 at the Center for Performing Arts (3754 Pleasant Avenue South, Minneapolis). To sign up for a 15 minute audition slot and receive audition details, contact Administrative Assistant Rachel Petrie at [email protected]
