Talking direction, pt 2: Dead writers

Directors, more than any other role in the theater, rarely get a chance to discuss their craft with each other. How might a different director approach a moment in the rehearsal room differently? We decided to see what happens when 6 notable Twin Cities directors--Jeremy Cohen, Leah Cooper, Ben McGovern, Dominic Taylor, Jon Ferguson, and Noel Raymond--gather together to discuss their craft. We've broken the 90 minute conversations into shorter topics for your convenience. In this second episode, we discuss how directors need to find a way to enter old plays while also thinking how to translate it for contemporary audiences. They mention Oedipus, For Colored Girls, Waiting for Godot, Othello, et. al.
