Improv comedy inspired by local music.
Every month, a different local musician performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from local improv group The Local Music Scene then improvise comedic scenes based on the lyrics.
Musical guest:
Singer of sad songs on a happy instrument!! Katy Vernon has been described as ”One of the Twin Cities’ most beloved folky singer/songwriters.” Star Tribune. Chris Riemenschneider.
She was born and raised in London, UK, but in the past dozen or so years has established herself as one of the Twin Cities busiest musicians. Combining catchy pop with Americana twang.
The Local Music Scene is: Laura Berger, Breanna Cecile, Liz Council, Jeff Roberts Gyllen, Nathan Kelly, Erik Ostrom, Shea Roberts Gyllen, and Philip Simondet.
They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theaters, including The Brave New Workshop, ComedySportz Twin Cities, HUGE Theater and Jesters.
All of them either ARE local musicians or enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they’ve heard the term "local music.”
