Magic Theatre on the verge of shutting down
After 40 years as one of the most prominent theaters in the nation solely dedicated to the development and production of new plays, the Magic Theatre has announced that if they don't raise $350,000 by January 9, 2009 they will shut down. The Magic has premiered over 200 new works including playwrights such as Sam Sheperd, David Mamet, Paula Vogel, Nilo Cruz, Rebecca Gilman, Charles Mee, Anne Bogart, Maria Irene Fornes, and Jose Rivera.
