Nocturnal Giraffe Theatre is seeking actors for our October 2024 production
DRACULA: A COMEDY OF TERRORS by Gordon Greenberg & Steve Rosen
Very loosely based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker
Directed by Joy Donley

Auditions are by appointment and will take place at the Center for Performing Arts (3754 Pleasant Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55409) on MONDAY, JULY 15 from 3 p.m.-9 p.m.
CASTING BREAKDOWN
Please note that the play sends up gender “norms,” and all characters can be played by actors of any gender, age or type. The initial conception was as indicated below. The role of Actor 2 has been cast; all other roles are available.
- ACTOR 1: Younger male to play HARKER/SUITORS/BOSUN/GRAVEDIGGER
- *ACTOR 2: Older female to play males, DR. WESTFELDT/RENFIELD/CAPTAIN *This role has been CAST.
- ACTOR 3: Younger female to play LUCY/KITTY/DRIVER
- ACTOR 4: Older male to play females, MINA/VAN HELSING
- ACTOR 5: Sexy male to play DRACULA

WHAT TO PREPARE: Please prepare a 1-minute monologue (preferably comedic). You will be performing the monologue as you have prepared, then you’ll be asked to do the same monologue with comedic characters of your own creation. Prepare 3-4 characters, with a variety of voices and physicality. Don’t be afraid to be broad in your choices. Think Monty Python and Mel Brooks.

NOTES ON UNION STATUS: Producer has not predetermined which roles will be non-union or union. From the four available roles, we anticipate offering one AEA contract- Special Appearance (Level 1), pending Equity approval. Three roles will be non-union and paid a stipend of $1000.
Rehearsals will begin the week of Sept. 22.
