Youth Performance Company seeks a diverse cast (ages 12-22) and encourages actors of all genders, ethnicities, cultures, socioeconomic status, and abilities to audition. Non-stipend positions.
When: Wednesday, November 13th 5:30pm - 7:45pm
Location: 641 Fairview Ave. N, St. Paul, MN 55104
Prepare: 1-2 minute dramatic or comedic monologue from a play, movie, or TV show.
The director will lead auditioners in a brief improv exercise.

About the show:
Step into the vibrant world of Toni Stone, the first woman to play in the Negro Baseball League. Inspired by her childhood in St. Paul’s Rondo Neighborhood in the 1930’s, this heartwarming and important story explores the origins, impact, and legacy of Toni Stone’s groundbreaking, barrier-shattering baseball career that opened the door for women in professional baseball.
About Toni Stone:
Toni Stone, born as Marcenia Lyle Stone, was an American female professional baseball player who grew up playing baseball in the Rondo neighborhood of St. Paul, MN. In 1953, she became the first woman to play as a regular on an American major-level professional baseball team when she joined the Indianapolis Clowns in the previously all-male Negro leagues.
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will be held at the YPC Offices and begin early December, 2024, and pick back up after the holidays in January 2025. A complete rehearsal and performance schedule will be handed out by or before the first rehearsal.
