Cabaret/Variety

Fast*Fest 2026 will be held August 21 (Friday welcome social) and August 22 (performances) at Theatre in the Round (245 Cedar Avenue) in Minneapolis.

There could be up to 18 shows in this festival of 20-minute (max) plays. This festival will be held conveniently at Theatre in the Round in downtown Minneapolis. This should be a very fun, entertaining and educational festival.

This is a unique opportunity to see many new and original works “in the round”. We will be utilizing the arena stage at Theatre in the Round.  Many of the shows in this festival are original works written for this festival.  The list of shows and when they will be performing will be available sometime in July.

You can also purchase tickets to the full event or individual performance sessions at the door. (Note that there is a discount for purchasing tickets on or before August 6.)

Tentative Schedule:

The actual schedule will depend on the number of shows in the festival. The actual schedule will be announced after the theatres have registered and the performance order set. Only the starting time of each session is announced.  Shows are presented one following the other within a session.

Friday:
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm open house and welcome social at Theatre in the Round – (for theatres presenting shows: this is your chance to see the stage & facility prior to your performance.)

Saturday:

9:30 am – productions

12:00 pm – Lunch on your own

1:00 pm – productions

5:00 pm – Dinner on your own

7:00 – productions

After the last colloquy – afterglow social at a location to be announced.
(light snacks provided by MACT)

Attendee Pricing

Pricing for festival attendees varies based on membership in MACT and when you register.

Prices are as below. (Early bird prices will only be available through August 6)

  • Full Package – includes Friday and Saturday socials and all performance sessions:
    • MACT Member on/before August 6 – $35
    • Non-MACT Member on/before August 6 – $55
    • MACT Member on/after August 7 – $55
    • Non-MACT member on/after August 7 – $65
  • Single Performance Sessions (price per session):
    • MACT Member on/before August 6 – $15
    • Non-MACT Member on/before August 6 – $20
    • Everyone on/after August 7 – $20
