Christian Tesch

Headshot of Christian Tesch

A multi-hyphenated artist (actor, singer, dancer, director, choreographer, writer, producer) based in the Twin-Cities who just wants to create.

Christian was born and raised in Minnesota with his true start in performing stemming from the Chanhassen Dinner Theater camps he use to do as a kid (he's still in the promotional photos that they use to this day).

Being active in the Twin-Cities Theatre community is very important to Christian so when he was asked to be apart of the Teen Ivey planning committee, he couldn't refuse. Christian helped organize and plan the Ten Ivey pre-award show party for the younger audience attending the Ivey Awards (when the Ivey Awards where a thing). Christian also presented and performed at different Ivey Awards.

Christian continued his training by going to Mainstreet School of Performing Arts which then moved and changed their name, making Christian apart of the first graduate class of The Performing Institute of Minnesota (PIM). During his time at PIM not only did he get a well rounded education, but was able to take classes to help develop his craft. During High school he was able to keep up with his scholarly duties while being in shows at PIM as well as The Children's Theatre Company (CTC). At CTC Christian had been in four shows, one of which was the world premiere of Dr. Seuess's Sneetches The Musical. Christian during his time at CTC had the privilege to shadow Peter Brosius and learn what t takes to be an artistic director. To end Christian's high school career he was a nominee for Hennepin Theater's Spotlight Education Triple Threat Award and in the running for being the Minnesota nominee for the Jimmy Awards in 2018.

After high school Christian went to college at Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU, Mankato) where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Christian learned many things while he attended MSU, Mankato, he learned truly what it takes to make a show run both on and off stage. In 2020 Christian was nominated for the Irene Ryan Scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) in region 5 for his role as Crutchie in MSU, Mankato's production of Newsies. He then went on to get fourth place in region 5 out of over 350 students from around the mid-west area including his own classmates. In 2022 he was nominated and received an honorable mention at that year's KCACTF not for his work on stage but for his work as producer, director, and editor of promotional videos that Christian had done for MSU, Mankato's entire theatrical season of 2021-22. To end Christian's collegiate career he wrote and received a grant from MSU, Mankato to put on a workshop of his original show called The Book About Life By: Everyone. A play that varies performance to performance as they are different versions relaying someone else's life story. Christian wrote his own version, directed his version as well as another version of the show, and acted in one of the different versions of the show. The Book About Life By: Everyone had a two weekend run of workshops one weekend being in Mankato and the second weekend in Minnesota. Christian did all of that while finishing up his studies and being in his last collegiate show at MSU, Mankato which was a production of The Sound of Music where he played Rolf.

Christian is very proud of all he has accomplished. After college he did the Disney College Program where he got to work at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the immersive Star Wars hotel. He worked there till it's closure. He enjoyed working at Disney World but he missed his home and creating with other local artists so as of January 2024 he moved home to where he now living right in the heart of St. Paul.
