Paul R. Coate is a professional actor, vocalist, director, educator, and arts administrator. Paul is a member of Actors Equity Association and serves on the Creative Placemaking Commission for the City of Bloomington, MN.
Acting credits include Guthrie Theater, Children's Theatre Company, Theater Latte Da (including several seasons in the company of ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914, which was recorded and broadcast on PBS), Duluth Playhouse, Park Square Theatre, History Theatre, Skylark Opera, Sidekick Theatre, Artistry, Theatre Elision, Nebraska Shakespeare, Nebraska Repertory Theatre, and many more.
Vocal Concert/Opera credits include Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Opera Omaha, Omaha Symphony Orchestra, Skylark Opera, and Mixed Precipitation. Paul has been conducted by maestros Osmo Vanska, Sarah Hicks, Andrew Litton, Neil Gittleman, Ernest Richardson, and Hal France.
