Lakeshore Players Theatre is excited to announce auditions for Come Back. In Neil Haven’s Come Back, a begrudging protagonist named Sky is thrust into a chaotic, cross-country quest following the death of Erin, a beloved friend and spirited bird rehabilitator. Tasked with fulfilling Erin's final wishes, a meticulously planned "incredible journey" through states like Iowa, Texas, and Utah, Sky must navigate the road with only an elderly, "play dead" performing African Grey parrot named Bruce and a heavy urn for company. This darkly comedic and deeply moving play explores the messy intersections of grief, friendship, and family as Sky encounters a series of eccentric characters and faces a tense showdown with Erin’s estranged parent, Val. Perfect for actors who enjoy balancing sharp wit with emotional vulnerability, Come Back is a hilarious and heartfelt examination of how we honor the dead while finally learning how to live.
